To celebrate International Women's Day, I decided to compile a list of 40 women that have had a positive impact on my life in one way or another.  Now...narrowing this down to just 40 was no easy task! However, ruthless I had to be, and this photomontage is the result.  It pictures 40 women that have changed my life, touched a chord in my life, or inspired me, and those that I admire, including some that have changed the world.

All of these women are amazing and, although some of them are sadly no longer with us, I would like to thank each and every one of them for affecting my life in some way.  Some of the more famous entries worth mentioning are Emmeline Pankhurst, Amelia Earhart, Mother Teresa, Princess Diana, and Angelina Jolie.  I'm sure you are aware of their merits and why they have likely been included on my list.  However, if you're not sure, I encourage you to look them up and discover why they are so amazing!

This was a great project to do, and prompted interesting questions such as what qualities do I admire in a person, what makes someone iconic, and do these features differ for men and women.  It's made me really look at all the women in my life and what they bring to my life; it's made me realise how enriched my life is because of them and how lucky I am.

So let me ask you this - which women would you choose?

I am also using this year's International Women's Day to launch my new 'Womanhood' portrait experience:

Celebrate yourself - your life, your beauty, your womanhood.  Whether you are twenty, fifty or eighty - age doesn't matter.  This experience is designed to be luxurious and liberating - it's not every day that we allow ourselves to be put first!  Relax and relish being pampered, having your hair and make-up styled by a professional.  You will be given model-treatment and can be photographed either at a studio or your home, having a number of outfit changes to show off your glamorous side.  I will direct you into different poses that will result in elegant and timeless portraits of yourself.  If you only allow yourself one treat, let this be it!
